Poem 7: ‘Stuck in the Past’ by Lydia, Enfield County School for Girls

Suggested title for Leon’s Poem : ‘Stuck in the Past’ – final stanza by Lydia, Enfield County School for Girls, Yr9

‘People may say “this mission is complete,” But I just don’t know! Revenge pulls at me “It’s not right” I tell myself. “It’s not right” It will aggravate the situation.

I don’t want this to happen to others, It tears you up and kicks you hard.

Guilt and regret gushes from head to toe It shouldn’t but my conscience says so. “Forget and move on” is easy to say,

But I just don’t know if I can go that way! I have stories to tell, but no one to listen. No cuddles.  No family.  No love.

People may say “this mission is complete,” But I just don’t know, I feel so…. Incomplete.’
