Join our teaching team!

1 x Full Time post and 1 x Part Time 0.6 (29.2 hpw).

Both posts are available immediately, or from or 1 September 2019 and are funded for one year initially.

We are seeking two highly skilled, experienced members of staff to join the existing teaching team and to help deliver the targets set by our external funders.

The post holders will be expected to provide high quality teaching on research informed courses in Holocaust education offered by the Centre at all levels including ITE, CPD and MA, to teachers who are responsible for teaching the Holocaust in secondary schools in England.

The post holders will initiate, develop, design and be responsible for the delivery of high quality new sessions in accordance with the Centre’s agreed plan of curriculum development.  The post holders will also tutor teachers participating on the Centre’s online masters’ module and mentor teachers on the Centre’s flagship Beacon School Programme in Holocaust Education. Typically, teachers will look to the post holder for support and expert guidance in their desire to improve Holocaust education in their school and beyond.

The post holders will engage with teacher networks in order to expand the Centre’s reach and impact across the country and will draw on evaluative data provided by the Centre’s research team in order to continuously improve its offer.

Key Requirements
PGCE or other Qualification of Teacher Status with experience of teaching in a relevant subject area such as Religious Education, History or Citizenship is essential for this post.Proven track record of delivering effective and credible CPD programmes in Holocaust Education or a related-subject to teachers and/or other professional groups and individuals.Experience of successfully generating school networks for the development of innovative learning opportunities and the professional development of teachers is desirable.
